- Safe Space Summer Program -
Springfield College - Locklin Hall
263 Alden St Springfield, MA 01109
July 11th - August 17th 2023
We are excited to announce, in partnership with Springfield College, our Safe Space Summer Program. This is a six-week program focused on a holistic approach to learning. We will anchor our work in evidence-based social emotional learning strategies, while also allowing the youth a safe space to be during the summer. Our program will run on Tuesdays & Thursdays (only 2 days a week) from 1pm – 6pm starting on July 11th thru August 1tth 2022 on the campus of Springfield College - Locklin (263 Alden St Springfield, MA 01109) for current Springfield Public School students who are in grades 6-12. We will have on-site enrichment activities, seminars, exposure to colleges, a couple of off-site experiential learning visits/field trips, meals will be provided and much more. This is a FREE program for students!
Our goal is to allow the youth of the community a safe environment to effectively communicate, build self-confidence, work on their social and emotional skills, develop healthy relationships and focus on community engagement. The program is hosted by the Springfield Pride Parade Organization (SPPO), our mission is that “we walk together in a community-driven movement of support, inclusivity, and public recognition to remind our LGBTQIA+ youth that they are safe, they are loved, and they are not alone.”
